Welcome to the
Mid-America Stoneware & Pottery Club
American households in the 19th and 20th Century needed pieces of stoneware pitchers, bowls, salt boxes, butter tubs, kitchen canisters, umbrella stands, chamber pots, slop jars, and other kitchen utilitarian use items. Highly sought were pieces featuring elaborately decorated, embossed, incised, or stenciled scenes of flowers, trees, forests, birds, animals, and people. The variety of these ceramic wares is endless, all being our collectable treasures today. We seek a plethora of salt glazed and Albany slip glazed vessels, spongeware, blue & grey, blue & white, cobalt decorated, presentation pieces, lunch hour, and animal figurals, having been produced by Mid-America stoneware and pottery manufacturers. These include the pottery centers of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kansas, Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Michigan Texas, and surrounding States.
Our membership has novice and advanced collectors of the wares of Red Wing, Galena, Monmouth, Macomb, Alexis, Ripley, White Hall, Upper Alton, Anna, Mound City, Santa Fe, Commerce, Huntingburg, Akron, Sleept Eye, and the White's Pottery New York, that enjoy sharing their research and information with others.
In a "not so odd" symbolic metamorphosis sense, the Old Sleepy Eye Club and the Blue & White Club were caterpillars ............that now have turned into one beautiful butterfly.
Spread your wings and "Come fly with us !"
